They all say goldies love the water... And that they will take to it so naturally that it's a joy bringing them out to the beach...
Neh!
The first time we brought Whiskey there was in November...
And we had such a hard time getting him from the carpark to Tanjong beach in Sentosa...
Firstly, my pooch takes after me n has a serious motion sickness problem...
he pukes after extended periods in the car...
Since then.. we have tried driving with the air con off, all windows down.. OR all windows down air con on also... blah blah combi lar..
Secondly, then he was still a puppy.. n he was easily startled..
nabei... all the smaller but older dogs were trying to hump him until i had to chase them off!!!
Thirdly... too many people ard him at one time n he got all edgy n growly..
once we got to the middle of the beach... he poo pooed all over the sand... - ___ -
Fourthly, he's afraid of the waves coming in on the shoreline...
And Rif had to CARRY him into the water n we had to monkey around shouting "Help Whiskey Help!!" then he took to the challenge n actually dog paddled...
Phew...
Talk bout effort....
And he's supposed to love water?!?!
Anyway.. it was all worth it.. cos he seemed to enjoy it after awhile.. the silly pup.. ;D
So we tried again on Sunday...
Our puppy is a big dog liao... 1 yr n close to 3 mths old!!
And he has become calmer n wiser in the past months...
less easily startled... n actually understanding what we want him to do...
Aiyah... he's got super good EQ n is jus a sweetheart lar... *gush*
Anyway.. poor doggie puked big time this time cos he had to endure a drive from Cairnhill to west of Spore... then to Sentosa.. where the road was windy n full of stupid blardee humps...
The puke was almost the size of a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut..
Strangely perfectly round n uniform in shape...
there were green pea-like stuff n shreds of meat in his puke...
only found out later that he was not fed green peas but they were the dry food pellets in green color..
You should have seen him!
While trying to find parking in Siloso... we smelt something funny n saw him looking down at his puke.. looking at us from the back of the jeep... n standing completely straight... then looked at his puke... then looked at us again.. as if going.. "uh oh..." ;D
Kan cheong me going "Hold on doggie!! just hold on!! I'm coming to clean you up!!"
Sure enough, brave doggie stood still.. balancing precariously as the jeep bounced over more annoying humps n making sure not a toe on any of his paws touch the puddle of mush...
Awwwwwwww!!!! cute right!!
And check it out.. he so brave n cool even after getting sick...
I love you doggie!!!!!!My fave pic with him to date!!
More pics while waiting for Rif to finish his Big Mac..Yes... we always concentrate that much on getting doggie here n there that we neglect our own needs!!!
Upclose n personal with Whiskey's pinkish nose... heeeHe doesn't like the shoreline where the water goes in n out n refuses to go near it!!!
We did the same thing as before...
Carry him in n release.... n made him swim between us both n extending the distance when he seemed more comfortable...
"Smart doggie!! Whiskey you such a good doggie!!"But he's really smart!! At first he kept his mouth open panting n kept drinking the salty water until he kinda hurled n threw up a sliver of foam...
"Silly dog! you think all water can be drunk?? keep your mouth close lar!" Rif exclaimed...
And he did... (as you can see in the pic!) ;O
how smart right!!..
We gave him breaks in between laps....resting on either one of US!!!
For a small dog he sure can swim fast!!
ouch! felt pretty raw on the arms n pretty much all over for the hour!!!
