Nanjing I kinda miss u, Love, Dodo

Early in the a.m. Day2 in Nkg...
We were brought to our first sight seeing destination, the Sun Yat Sen memorial...

The steps were daunting enough
More so for certain individuals who were up til 4am the nite b4 getting drunk
Not me!!

Photo crazy cos the day jus started

Made it to the top!
Said to have the most scenic view in Nkg

No photos allowed...
but u know dodo is gangster.
Apparently Sun yat sen had stated in his will his intention to be buried at this spot in Nkg

To take a rest on the climb down
The sun's too hot!!
Well... at least for me! the other two babes r jus too gorgeously tanned!

"The sky ish so blue! hmmm"

Lunch next!!!
The Menu
No handy book sized ones!!!

The salt water Duck thingy
its yummy!!

Piggy kidney..
Dodo's fave

Good food with really nice presentation
Super clean utensils n toilets n super good service.
Bill came up to 500 plus rmb
okie wat!!

Next: up on the Yangtze River bridge

Built during the great Mao era
1960s
How they managed to erect such a long n strong bridge over both sea n land given such limited technology is beyond me.
More so when the years of 1960-63 were china's poorest years where ppl had to survive on tree bark n wat not for food.

Anyhoo...
all other bridges need to pay toll..
But the Yangtze River bridge no need cos there's a great artist behind it all

The famous dude who paints from inside out n right side left (laterally inverted?)

I bought this crystal teapot for eff-ing 1380Rmb (SGD 297) for my dad dad

it better rise in value like they say it would when the artist retires 2 yrs later or wat man
Anyway its really pretty n comes with a certificate signed by himself n apparently he's the only guy who can draw inside a freaking teapot n do it decently.

Trying to justify my buy n $ spent??
You bet. ;p

Anyway the teapot is placed next to dad's crystal stone n his wealth piggy bank thing in our wealth corner next to the tv in my living room n i hope my mom dun break it accidentally when vacuuming or something.

Next : Nanking Massacre Memorial

Outside....

Sculpture of 13 yr old boy carrying his dead granny running away from the Japs.

Sigh......

History showed tt they spared no one...
children, really elderly ppl
Stupid dodo actually almost teared....

No photos allowed inside n we almost got into trouble with the guards cos we did not see the "no Photos" sign.
But it's immaculately maintained...
N its FREE entrance for ALL.

Our guide told us tt the Japanese refuse to acknowledge the Rape of Nkg as part of their history to this day even though sufficient evidence is present. N this was part of the reason the Nanjing govt spent so much $$ on building, renovating, maintaining the memorial site n making it accessible to all.

We did not manage to finish the museum in 1.5 hrs though.

Next up: Fu Zi Temple

On the bridge between the town n red light district.
They say the scholars who failed their exams would sometimes cross the bridge to seek comfort in the red light district... hehe

The place where scholars travel to to do their big exams.
Guide says famous authors include the ones who wrote Liao Zai n the Journey to the West.

The square itself

The rest stayed outside...
I paid the entrance fee of 28yuan so i could make some wishes....

Brought to buy Dvds after...
But the range was yucky so i busied myself at the nearby dog market

Lookiee!! Many many Mantous!!!!!!!
But the dude say tt its not Chow chow lei...

helloooo!

Puppy huskies!!!!

Wat u looking at u oh so cute adorable puppies???! *swoon*

Totally heart wrenching cos i dunno wats to become of them...
This is China... wat happens when they r not sold n grown up??
Do they get eaten? or kept in farms of really awful conditions??
:__(

Chubby cuddly love sweeeeet loovvvveeee~

Lastly the inside of the loti van we had to take cos no cabs wanted to fetch us after wholesale shopping the next day

Wat can i say...
The drivers there damn skilled one lar.....
Awesome ride it was.

No photos of the nite at the clubs cos was too intoxicated.
But they were all Dragonfly-like.
So there!

If only all flights can be like tt.
Enough time to sightsee, sleep, shop, slack (the 4 big Ss), drink, club, sleep somemore.
Flylife would then be the best job on earth.
I pray for more Nkg flights!!! whoop! ;)
