DAY 1 : OFF TO BALI!

And so the double DCs embarked on our Contiki Bali trip
Something I tot would not go thru cos we booked everything kinda last min but it happened anyways!!!

We really din know wat was gonna happen or wat we were gonna do
DC's never been to Bali b4 n the last time I went there was with my parents when I was 11

But we kinda knew we wanted to check out the clubs there!! And drink lotsa beer!
N relax!

On VF 541 departing Sg 1905hours 17 jan 08...
Oh no... let me off the plane!!!!
DC's so gonna bully me lar!!

Plane push back le..
No chance of getting off...
I'm stuck with DC for the next 4 days, for better or worse...
In a very foreign land...
With only SGD40 in my purse n he holding all the Rupiah..

So we r off to the Land of every-couple-will-break-up-if they-go-together place..

On a side note, over dinner just now, one of the crew said she asked the Bali ground staff if this urban legend is true, tt couples all break up after going hol in Bali together...

The ground staff say its true lei!!!
Apparently Bali is a very religious place n unmarried couples who holiday there will break up somehow cos it's a sin...
hmmmmm......

Lucky me n DC not couple lar.. but even if we were i will bring him to Bali just to break up with him..

We arrived v late n v hungry n the resort was quiet...
Apparently everyone went out to play liao...

I liked the resort alot!!
I was expecting a not so new pad... but....
This is the play lounge where there the pool table n table tennis table...

"I think I is hungry..." Omhhh~

So we walked out after check in to makan n check out the activity nearby..

Settled in Nirvana Club
After passing 2 super hap gay bars n lady boys n a jam packed salsa club

FYI, Contiki is in Seminyak, a little off the central Kuta area but still just a 10 min walk to Kuta beach.. is tt nearer???
i have no idea... we din need to use a map when getting around with the precise n helpful directions given by the ever so friendly n PR-ready Contiki staff...

It started raining bout 11 at nite n we stayed put for the nite...
Ended up talking to the PR exec of Nirvana CLub (which by the way played pretty good moosic)
This lady is the same age as us we found out, n used to work in Sg as a nurse in Wood Bridge MH for a year...
Not only is she damn good at PR-ing, her english quite good also lar..

SO we found out from her the happening clubs we gotta check out, namely the big 3:
Double 6, Bounty n M Bar Go.

Space constraint~

We booked a Twin room... they gave us a double..
N no more available rooms til the next day...
Wah liao... guy n girl go Bali must b couple meh!!??!
So we split the king sized down the middle with the ample pillows provided.

"If i accidentally come over yr side how??"
"Then we put a bowl of water between laR!" ;D

DAY 2: THE BEACH, THE POOL N THE CLUB~

We went for brekkie n DC informs me as he looked out to the breakfast area across the pool tt we were the only asians in the resort...

Cool... so Contiki is an ang mo joint huh?

A walk along Kuta beach

We found a satisfactory spot, paid 30,000 rupiah (approx SGD5) for our chairs n umbrella thingy n settled in with SPF 50.

Yeah... both DCs like to maintain our fairness...

Beers thrown in at 10k rupiah each.

1st beer of the day...
at 12pm

To give u an idea on how much alcohol we imbibed throughout the 4 days there...
wat followed after tt 1st beer was another 8 bottles of Bintang beer(yummy), 4 cocktails, n bottle of champagne b4 we went clubbing later in the nite n then more drinks...

The next day we had slightly less beer but polished off a whole bottle of red during dinner.
But basically we had cocktails throughout the day... n more when partying at nite again...

Strangely, we never got drunk...
Think when one is on holiday, one has an ultra high alcohol capacity..
I need to detox lar!

Never a boring moment..
I can't even remember wat we talked about...

Then we got bored of being sandy n having to use the sea as our toilet n headed back to the resort.

At the pool bar...
The sun was just.... yummiliciously warm...
Not too scorching hot...

Though it rained in the nights.. the days were all nice n sunny..

I was consumed with DC's game..
Some brain puzzle thingy..

Good shit..
We worked on it over cocktails n the 8 Bintang beers all afternoon in the sun n pool til we got pruney skin...

The battle continues since we were on the plane!!!
Whoever lost thrice in a row will put the hotel bills on their credit card!
I lost! eeyur! ;D

This is the life...

Damn happening lar.. apparently the pool bar is the most crowded n happy place everyday...
The residents all returned round 4 pm n it was packed...

Games were organised...
We just people watched n laughed...
It's really quite cute..
To try to identify the alpha male n female in each group...

Tennis also
We suck at it...
And we both lopped a tennis ball each over the fence...
that costs us 20k rupiah as a fine for losing their balls.

DC also almost puked blood trying to teach me how to play table tennis... wahhahahah~

It rained quite heavily tt Fri nite n we were planning to go check out Club Double Six lor...
Hearsay tt it has a bungee jumping crane within lei!!!

I was damn tired from the sun n the sea... n the Contiki staff told us to tt the party starts round 2 am anyway...
So we napped n woke at 1am when we heard the rain finally had stopped...

Wake up to Champagne!!

After that my camera ran out of batt... STUPid!!! ;(

DC's digi cam was the size of a watermelon so obviously we didnt wanna bring it out to party..

The crowd started packing it in around 0330 hrs.. when the others have closed..
The music is awesome...

The DJ pretty good as well!!!
N jus enough personal space to dance even when it got crowded!!

The theme that night was Yesteryear, so all the damn old skool trance trax!!!

If it's one thing I learnt bout DC this trip, it's tt he's a damn good track spotter...
U know how those 'stoom-stoom-stoom' tunes all sound pretty alike... but he can tell me which dj it is n the title one lor...

We danced n danced til 6 in the morning...
Sun was up... the sea breeze never smelt so good..
n OH!!! CAN SMOKE IN THE CLUB~ ;D

It's been a long long time since the ciggie ban in Sg that I have last held a ciggie while dancing n trancing INSIDE a club... ;p

Contiki was only a 10 min walk from Club Double 6! Retracing the walk to the beach in the morning we realised...
Gosh... a walk on the beach after a fab nite at the club...
I was starting to really fall in love with this place... ~~ love love love!!~~


DAY 3: CLUB HOP HOP HOP!~

Woke at 2 pm for more sun...
Wah liao.. we stayed up til 830 am for brekkie lei after 66..
Super shag..~

By the way did i mention we got ourselves a pool terrace room??
Which meant we had direct access to the pool...

N our own lil deck area..

We spent the afternoon nua-ing at the pool bar again...

"Do u mind tt we spend all our time in the resort??"

"Of cos not! r u mad! i love it!"

Seems like DCs both have a similar concept when it comes to getaways...
I sure dun wanna rush around trying out banana boats jus cos we feel we have to lor.. goodie~~ ;D

In the evening, it's off to Jimbaran Beach for seafood
N more clubbing along Jalan Legian area...

Jimbaran Beach is like East Coast Seafood Centre. Just that the dining area is on the beach itself lor...

So we r just short of having to dip our feet in the water...
N we were close to the airport so we could see every plane take off n land..
The sky was incredibly starry...
It was beautiful... :)))

I'm so sorry there r no pics...

I swear it's the place to look deep into yr lover's eyes n get all dreamy..
Too bad I was with DC. ;p

As i mentioned... the locals all say the same big 3 in Bali's club scene...
We checked out Bounty...

N the men there were ALL so yummy!!

They had angels dancing on the bar top n it's kinda like their trademark thingy..

Having clubbed in NYC n LHR n not liking it...
Im so happy with wat they've got here in Bali

We stopped by outside the 3rd must go club M Bar Go (I kept looking out for "Embargo" lor...)
N it was packed man...
Music?? Very much Double O style.. not our cuppa tea...

So we hopped off to Club Double 6 again!!!!

Had trouble getting a cab back when we left at 4 am cos they were all quoting ridiculous prices n we walked back in the pitch dark beach back to Contiki.

Not recommended cos it's not safe!!!!!!
We got freaked out a couple o' times by some very fast moving shadows which even DC couldn't identify the subject with his perfect eyesight. FREAKY~

But DC taught me how to spot the Southern Cross n the Big Dipper among the mass of stars...

Another thing I learnt bout this flyboy...
He packs lotsa stuff in his brains as well lor... n i never got bored picking his brains on a wide spectrum of stuff...

N he is ever willing to share his knowledge w me... ever so patiently...

Girls... pls come claim the man... I'm pimpin' him~ ;D

DAY 4: Bye bye Bali! SOb~ I wILL b Back!!

Though we have checked out... the resort still has locker n shower room facilities for this sorta situations so we lounged some more at the pool til pick up for the airport i the evening..

4 Days 3 nights of good clean fun n closer bond is wat it's all bout.
Of cos there were lotsa "ooei dun come out of the toilet I'm changing!!!" n "Can I come into the toilet to take the hair dryer!!??"

But all it takes is lots n lots of mutual respect for each other n we do so treasure wat we have between us. :)

After all, we know each other for close to 13 years n counting...
Doing anything foolish just becos we can is jus jeopardizing everything n being silly.
